Is it normal that i don't wish to pursue college and want to work?

I've always had this ambition, I never wanted to go to a college. I've always wanted to immediantly join the work force as soon as I leave High School in 2 years. I have two friends that pursue the same goals. Is this normal? How do I tell people I'm not college material?

Here in Australia people usually leave school and get jobs instead of college or Uni so to me your completely normal

  • It is fine, I did but it was more out of necessity than choice. The money just wasn't there as my parents are addicts and I don't regret working. I am just in college now with a class filled with people who are ten years younger than I am.

I am thirty now so it isn't like I am that old. However, do what would bring joy to your day as that is really all we can work for.

College isn't for everyone. And in this day of internet and technology, it's possibly becoming less and less relevant. Many people have made something of themselves without going to college. It doesn't make you abnormal.

There are a good number of entrepreneurs that actually quite college and went on to pursue their dreams elsewhere.

    • It is odd but even without all of that extra schooling, you can write far better than the average on this site. Using you as an example, it is fine and I wish you the best of luck.

  • Totally normal. Keep as many doors open for yourself as you can though. You might change your mind later. And you don't want to have torpedoed your options.
