Is it normal that i don't watch things because i'm too embarrassed to?

I have an odd problem. When I want to watch something, depending on what it is I get embarrassed and don't watch them. But it's not because anyone else is there, I just have snakes in my stomach and can't watch them.

Also when something happens that’s intended to be funny in a show e.g. the character in it is doing a performance an falls off stage, instead of laughing at it I get all embarrassed I feel like I'm that character and I just did that.

It gets worse sometimes thoughts like this or worse into my head and I get all embarrassed and make an odd expression or suddenly gasp and look down. People are starting to notice and just stare at me like I'm nuts or something.

Is this normal? Any advice? How can I stop these feelings?

That happens to me. You think everyone is staring at you and you don't want them to.
What i do is think to myself,
"nobody is staring at you, youre not staring at everyone"
"youre so self-centered thinking everyone is staring at you"
"youre not that great that everyone wants to look at you"
"fuck them, ill do what i want, fine, stare bitches"
haha that last one makes me laugh when i write it but seriously, these do help me
and so do deep breathes to calm me down
    good luck with this :)

The more you experience the less often it will happen. Kind of like building up a tolerance. Just be open-minded about things and it will be a little easier.

It doesn't seem to be too much of a problem but if you feel it getting worse you should make sure you're not developing some sort of anxiety or panic disorder.
