Is it normal that i don't want to eliminate cancer?

I know it sounds heartless, but I believe everyone needs to suffer at random and people need to die and experience tragedy. That's what makes life fair and interesting. This goes for other diseases too. Life is fair because it's unfair to everyone at some point.

I don't mind /treatments/ existing, I just don't want a "cancer vaccine" to exist (yes, I've seen I Am Legend.)

I even considered backing out of pursuing medicine because I don't want to practice 30 years from now if there are vaccinations for cancer. Is this normal?

You'd be a pretty crappy medical practitioner...
"Doc, I've just been stabbed; you gotta help me!"
"Eh, that stuff happens. I guess it was just your time. Have a nice day!"
    Or...
"Doc, my mother has cancer. What do you recommend?"
"Just tough it out; It'll be fun!"

The same logic could be applied to war, genocide, murder, or anything that causes the destruction of human life.

Take a stroll through a cancer treatment center sometime and lets see if you can look into the eyes of a dying patient and tell them the same thing.

Totally disagree here. I do believe that *bacterial/viral* diseases (that don't generally kill or permanently cripple their victims) should be treated as opposed to being eradicated for the simple reason that we need our immune systems to have something to fight so that when something does come along (and it WILL) we have not "evolved" into a species with no natural immunity. But diseases where the body is turning on itself, really don't have this kind of value and so we SHOULD be trying to eradicate those.
Granted, we do have a population problem, and a license for parenthood is, to me, a good idea - not as in China's "one child per family, no exceptions", but rather by testing to see whether a couple would be GOOD parents for their child. A lot of society's problems seem to stem from letting people create new lives (have babies, breed dogs and cats), adopt animals, etc willy-nilly, with little to no oversight. Not a good situation.

It's physically impossible to eradicate or all viruses and harmful bacteria for the planet. Also, in regards to a diminishing immune system; that's physically impossible, as well. Considering the immune system is polygenic, it would take billions of years before it we even be feasible to purpose evolution in it, albeit completely missing.

Your statement, "A diminishing immune system; that's physically impossible", is patently false. Have you not heard of HIV/AIDS. as well as other diseases that cause immuno-deficiency?
Would you please re-phrase your last two sentences, such that a person with average intelligence might understand it!

I know what you're saying but the evolution of a diminishing immune system is what I was referring to. Not simply a disease or virus that causes a lack of an immune system.

Shamans have lived naturally for thousands of years. They are more advanced spiritually and intelligently, they live off the earth. Since knowing isn't possible to understand. We are plugged into social media. Science says this is what is best for us, we follow. The only way left for us to evolve is to shift dimensions. douche.

Yes, shamans live off the earth. But, do they not, therefore, have knowledge of healing herbs; naturally-occurring plants that serve to cure illness? Perhaps my choice of words was poor ("diminishing immune system"), never said "we need to go to the doctor and swallow five pills per day". The pills, etc. if anything are just synthetic, souped-up (and thus less natural) substances that have come to replace their age-old naturally-growing counterparts. Ultimately I am mostly agreeing with you: reacting violently and flinging pills and syrups at every little sniffle of disease is NOT the way to go. I simply think that in the comparatively few (with regards to the number of lesser problems) true life-or-long-painful-death situations, that we should use more modern weapons, and indeed devote the money currently thrown at preventing children from ever sniffling to these few scientific pursuits.

I hope you get cancer and suffer for a long time. The medical field doesn't need jackasses like you anyways.

The notion that humans would STOP reproducing or striving to find new advancements, medical breakthroughs, and innovations is sort of like expecting trees to stop growing of their own volition.

As mean as this sounds i hope you get cancer just so you know what it feels like! I've saw so many good people suffer and lose all their stuff because they cant pay the bills for their cancer treatments. You really have no clue what you are talking about and how hard it is to not be able to go out and do the things you love and play with your children. I only know this because my 34 year old cousin has cancer! From her chemo treatmeans she spends most of her week being sick from them then by the time she gets feeling better she has to go for another one.

It is good to control population and hey cancer is a pretty good way of doing it, but there are a few problems 1:is it typically shows up later in life after people have already had kids so its hard to bread against it 2: it is non-communicable(as far as we know) therefore does not infect spread like a plague. There is also the face that we have a cure for cancer, I say we because I don't mean some rich person in a lab waiting. I say we because proper diet has been shown to destroy cancer(i'm talking very very healthy all natural foods no GMOs or finished meats) as well as many other herbs, baking soda kills cancer and so can good therapy. The best part about all this is people don't even actually know what cancer is they have theories and they use them as fact(its like how the theory of evolution is taught as fact, but yet its still called a theory).

As for suffering well no one says that you have to suffer its a choice. Wanting people to suffer for your entertainment on the other hand is kinda a evil thing to do but to each his own.

I see what you mean; often times the kindest people are people who have suffered, that's the way life works. It's population control, as well. But at the same time, no one should have to go through the pain of cancer. It's a complicated subject.

Diseases have been part of our evolution throughout the ages. Diseases have been the primary method by which nature has controlled our population. It also helps to understand that diseases strengthen our immune system, since individuals who have an immunity or greater resistance to a disease is more likely to survive and thus reproduce, passing those genetics to their offspring.
It is only within the last 100 years that we have learned how to defeat most of the diseases that had historically kept our population in check. These so-called 'great medical achievements' might not be so 'great' after all.
Many people continue to breed as if these diseases are still present, and this is the primary cause of our current population explosion. Secondly, many of our societies have not put in place steps and measures to prevent the spread of inferior genetics, that diseases normally would have controlled, throughout the Human Genome. This is an extremely dangerous course of action, albeit usually through negligence or ignorance. We should, more prevalently educate the public to these dangers. Each and every person who takes more responsibility and pro-actively mitigates this, is a benefit to all.
    To be cont'd...

I have discussed an idea with many of my friends, and usually they are in concurrence. Should we license childbirth? If we did, we could mitigate the dangers to us all, as outlined above. If we stay complacent, and allow the vocal minority, with their twisted ideals, to continue to dictate public policy, we will end up in a world that is overcrowded, uninhabitable and every person will be fully dependent on medical technologies for their basic survival!

This. ^ The overpopulation problem is only going to get worse if we keep going the way we are. Diseases exist for a reason, and in protecting ourself to the extent that we have from diseases, the elements and natural predators we have become as a cancer to this planet, growing exponentially with no system of checks and balances in place.

A more naturalistic way of living would be the easiest solution to this problem but people dont want to give up their cars and cities and electricity and factories and ipads. Id be all up for living in independant tribes, close to the earth, using limited electricity and resources and making as much of our own food and clean energy as we can. But thats a whole broad topic.

My one question would be how would you suggest implementing a system to regulate breeding? It would have to be completely objective and free from the ability of others who come in the future to change policies based on their own preferences or prejudices.

I must disagree with your statement that, "A more naturalistc way of living would be the easiest solution to this problem..." People are often deluded into thinking that living within nature is easy. There will be some, who will prefer to try this. We have no right to prevent them from doing this, if they choose. We must, however, set a strict regulation that they are not to receive any technologies that have been developed since the start of the industrial revolution. Any technologies that they can develop on their own is allowable. Questions about trade with them will need to be agreed upon, but this must adhere to the regulation. Also a determination on what literature they will be allowed will need to be decided. There may be a few exceptions to this, Mennonites, Hutterites and Amish peoples, for example.
On your question about how to implement a system to regulate breeding; just as I stated, simply license it. What we need is for the majority of the populace, in any given region, to have the political willingness to do so. See the final paragraph of DarthLupine666's comment in this post. This is a fair and balanced outlook on this topic.
