Is it normal that i don't want my ears pierced?

I am 20 and female and have never had my ears pierced. It's honestly because I just don't have the desire to wear earings and have to deal with it. It seems like more of a hassle then a positive additive. I've tried clip-ons and I just don't like how they look in the mirror and I feel like they are too dressy or the wrong color. Is this normal?

I'm 18 and don't have my ears pierced either, I've never been really big on jewelery.

Yes, it's normal. I never wanted to my entire life, through to early 20's. I'd started making jewellery, earrings in particular, and felt I should wear some so I could work out what was wearable and what wasn't. I still didn't particularly want them done, and I almost ran away (because I'm pathetic). But after I got them done, I liked them a lot. I got a second one in each lobe the next year. Now I'm waiting for them to grow over so I can get them redone properly.

Aww that's good! I guess a new line of work can influence your feelings on getting them pierced. My new job has me selling earrings so I wonder if it will change my mind about them

I'm with those above who don't particularly like earrings, or nose rings, or piercings of any kind.
Live your life as you see fit and don't bow to outside pressure.
In my lifestyle, they just get torn out anyway and then there's an ugly scar.

It's fine. I had mine done when i was like 12, i thought it was weird and they got annoying. I stopped wearing them a long time ago and i haven't worn them since.

Who cares what people think, you can do whatever you like :)

I want to be honest, I think earrings look stupid anyways.

I guess some look too loud or out there, you could say earrings are just clunky metal hanging from your ears. Though I think some have aesthetic value to them.

I wouldn't call you're feelings about earrings especially abnormal per se but rather I would state that pierced ears are relatively normal in Western society at this point in time and has been for nearly a century.

Having said that I'm not particularly fond of ear lobe stretching fad.

Yeah I see what you are saying, I guess I've been really thrown out of the earring world in society mainly just wasn't exposed to them.

Me either! I couldn't live with big holes in my ears and have to wear corks everyday to plug them up.

I got a job at an accesory store called Icing and my manager is pretty much saying I need to get them done as soon as possible because Icing employees should be accessorizing with the stores merchandise, and I'm like anti clip-earrings, I'm gonna either try to find a way around it, or wait and see if getting earrings becomes more desirable over time.

That sounds like bull shit! Alright here what I would do if I were you. Find a legal way around it. <a href="http://smallbusiness.chron.com/workplace-discrimination-tattoos-piercings-16708.html" rel="nofollow">http://smallbusiness.chron.com/workplace-discri...</a> I found this. I actually seen this with tatoo parlors. You can make a discrimination lawsuit if they try and fire you. I cant find much information on this issue. Most of the links I found was jobs forcing to remove tats and piercings.

<a href="http://www.rense.com/general11/plac.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.rense.com/general11/plac.htm</a> If I were you I would find a way to sue them with a discrimination lawsuit. Also you could try to bring up the health violation issue.

<a href="http://www.homiegfunk.com/gunssuck.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.homiegfunk.com/gunssuck.htm</a> According to this piercing ears can get unsanitary. I hope this helps. I personally have pierced ears but I really dont think they should be forcing it on you. I hope this helps. If someone is putting your health at risk you can sue them for damages. So I think you might be able to get them for putting you in an unsafe work eviorment.

If "wearing accessories" was not specifically mentioned at your interview as a part of the job, then there is no way you can be forced to wear the stuff.
Wear necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc. and leave the piercings to others.
