Whenever I tell people that I don't want children they look at me like I am an alien. They tell me that my maternal instinct will kick in when I'm older but I know it won't. Is it normal that I don't want children? It's not that I don't like them I just don't want one
Agreed.I don't want them at all and have no desire to even entertain the idea. When I told my family my aunt said, "but who will you live for?"... Ummm, myself maybe. I know I am not ready for children and probably never will be, so why should I introduce them into this world?! I'm 28 by the way, and engaged. It's just not something either of us is interested in. And that is ok for you too. Do what you want with your life not what others tell you.
i feel the same way too. i don't wan't kids either.
it's all a huge risk from the very beginning, will the child be normal or not? will it be sick? the very young years are very difficult to work with the long process of all of the development and obedience. and then comes adolescence, 7-8 years where they pretty much torment the hell out of you, go around doing things you don't know, such as drugs. plus having to deal with their education and schools and trying to get them into college and start their own life. plus at any time during parenting, there's always the risk of something happening to or losing the child. and that would be the most devastating thing.
considering all of those things, i think having kids is just not worth it.

It's very normal.... Just ignore who tell u that... It's your life and no body will carry the load for u
It's normal I'm the same way. People say it's weird but I don't care. I just tell them to worry about themselves and if they want a bunch of kids they can't handle be my guest.
It's your life & you can do what you want. Having children isn't for everybody. But who knows, you may change your mind someday.
Ugh children, Dont even get me started. I see it as you give birth to child, You get strecth marks and you go fatter. All that dieting and excercise for this ?!
I'm the same way. I hate it when people tell me I'm eventually going to change my mind. Trust me, I'm not. I hate the idea of having kids. I mean kids are great and all, but in small doses. I could be like the favorite aunt or even godmother, but not a mother. No thank you. Lol.

I am 31 and was 29 when I had my son. The older I got I felt like I didn't need a baby, but now that I have him I can't imagine not wanting him or more! He's the love if my life! It's okay to not want children. I understand how you feel! Some people just don't want or have the maternal instinct! Not everyone was born to be a parent. Live your life how you want to live it regardless of what society thinks we were a supposed to be or do!!
Some women I've known don't want kids... it just comes from between personal experience and age you never know if you may just change your mind or you may just end up always hating the idea
Nothing is normal, Everyone is different and have very different views of the word 'normal'. So don't go around telling people what's normal and what is not.
And for your information we are not exactly animals. We go to work, Study hard, Clean our shit up, Animal don't.
