I don't like anyone seeing me while i work, let it be any work. Household work or my studies or painting etc. I sometimes even don't like people coming and Sitting near me while i watch tv or play games etc.
I really do not like people seeing me- a woman- doing housework and cooking. I feel so demeaned, especially when some bright spark say "A woman's work is never finished."
I actually had to leave a life because of this attitude. I was self-employed therapist trying to work in a small town, which was difficult enough anyway. But then one of my ex's patients came round and saw me cooking and made the above comment. Subsequently, word got around that I was "only his wife doing his cooking like all the other women" and that was that, nobody would take my work seriously any more.
Moral of the story: do not let anyone see you cooking and cleaning if you are a woman!
Yes this is one of the reasons too. Because in my culture, there are still people who think that the kitchen is the place for the woman and they'll always have to be under the protection of their father, husband or son. And if you do housework, it is like someone telling you, you are a woman and inspire of the work you do, you have to come back to the kitchen. It is like the housework is only for the housewife.
I like working alone for the most part. Things like cleaning or yard work I find very relaxing and meditative and more enjoyable when done alone.
Its normal to sum extent. If u r people-phobic, thats a prob. If u can consult a doc.
I don't really care unless its summer. I'm a damn wreck in the heat and humidity. All sweaty and my hair a damn messier mess than usual. Blech.
I live alone and I already don't like doing house work when it's just me and my cat but factor in a significant other I say, "hell no", because it feels degrading to me. Honestly I don't like ANYONE watching me do that kinda work!
Ironically my uncle who is a realtor offered to pay me to clean empty homes that are for sale and I willing to do that but of course that's because I would be alone and getting paid.
