Is it normal that i don't receive regular tips?

Hey so I am a party hostess where I work, which entails me setting up and tearing down a party room (i.e. place settings, decorations, cleaning, etc...), serving food to guests, and keeping the party on a time schedule. Parties run from about 250-600 dollars typically but we don't put a gratuity or have a tip option on our receipt, therefore leaving it solely up to the parents to even think about leaving a tip.

Our big party days are on Saturdays where there are only two party hostesses, myself and another girl. every weekend I maybe come home with 20 dollars while she is making a tip from almost all her parties, 100+. I know we have different ways of doing things but we have surveys that each party has to fill out when they are finished and that has never reflected in our scores (in other words we both score 10s usually)

Is it normal that she is getting more tips than I am? Does anyone have any tips on how to make more tips or what i can to do improve and make more?

    Try talking to them, sparking a conversation that they would like to talk about, usually works for me as a guy that gets tipped regularly at my job
