Yes, it happens sometimes. Perhaps you're repressing unpleasant memories and experiences. I don't remember much beyond the past few years of my life, mostly because there are many things that I'd prefer to forget.
Me neither but I think that's because there's barely anything worth remembering for me. Instead of memories, my head is chock full of nearly pointless factoids and trivia. It's probably a bit sad, really, but I wouldn't know about that.
I don't remember anything past 4 years old so I kind of know what you mean, but then again it depends on how important you looked to your past to be. People tend to remember what is most important to them, not saying your past isn't important, but if you didn't care too much for your past it's most likely you won't remember it. If my past wasn't so much hell that it didn't shape the very being I am today I probably wouldn't remember either.
