Is it normal that i don't really care about my extended family?

So, this is my situation. Tomorrow is my grandfather's birthday, and my family is visiting them. I'm expected to go with them, but I really don't want to. Mainly because I don't really care for them, but also because its like an 8 hour round trip. My parents acted like I am selfish and rude for not wanting to go. I mean it's always that way, even with other members of my family, my aunts and uncles etc. I just don't care about them.
So I guess what I'm asking is, is it normal to not care about my extended family?

It's normal if you don't like them, it happens.

What isn't normal is that you let your parents put a guilt trip on you, and it bothers you. If you're a grown-up do whatever you want.

whoah you are lucky, when u get older and lonelier you will realize how important family as a whole is. I've noticed that generally the most successful people have strong families.

But there might be cake? I like visiting. I like to listen to what everyone's talking about, and eat cake.
