Is it normal that i don't listen to music?

I know, it's really weird. Ever since I can remember, I've never really had an interest in music. I just never listened to it. I really wish I liked music. Sometimes I just sit down and listen to various types of music and try to like it, but I just can't. Do I just not have the right mindset of something? What am I doing wrong?

I've never heard of someone who doesn't like music. I know people who dislike certain genres of music but never music all together.

I don't compare liking music to liking films because there will always be one story a person may like. I don't watch many movies but it's not because i dislike them, i just can't be bothered doing so.

Music is something on a different level, i believe. Sound kinda has a way of moving with your soul, for a lack of a better word.

It's "normal" not to listen to it (spend your time as you please) but if it's normal to dislike it all together? In my opinion, not really...

Try listening to music that relates personally to you. Start lyrically at first, look for artists who speak to you, where something you're going through in your life is reflected in their lyrics. Music can be your greatest friend.

I mostly listen to stand up comedy at home and Howard Stern while driving. But some music too.

Personally I would take music over books,tv and even films (forgive me Lynch) but everyone likes different things, i'm sure you are fond of things that I don't really have an interest in. It'd be boring if everyone had the same interests.

You haven't found the right music. It's really hard for me to find music i really like, but when I do, i over play it since it's the only thing i like at the moment, and then it ruins it for me cause it gets old, then I don't have any music to listen to for a while, because barely anything is appealing to me. I haven't added a song to my iPod in 3 years.

I stopped listening to music since my ex gf broke up with me. It is too emotional and depressing and I'm better off without it. Maybe if I found someone else I will listen again.

What kind of music do you try to listen to? I personally like lesser known music, not because I want to be a "hipster," it's just better lol. And there are some really famous bands/artists I like; lately I dig Blink-182 :) if you want music suggestions message me. If not, that's fine too.

It's not normal. But there's nothing wrong with you though, don't worry it's okay to be a little different. :)

I know quite a few people who are totally apathetic about music. You are in the minority but you're not alone :)

Try listening to it in the car. Listen to music that enhances driving

I used to say music was just noise, now i love it. Maybe in time you will like it.

Sounds strange. Everyone I know, including myself, likes music to varying degrees. Maybe you could try learning an instrument. Learning to play something might help you reach a better understanding of how music works together.

enjoy in what you like...!! look at me i don't watch movies but does it make a difference? no!! it just depends in what you find more amusing .. songs are to entertain they're are not necessarily to be liked. :)

I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong, but very narrow minded, shutting yourself off to a whole world of expression and deeper meaning. Maybe you just haven't found music that appeals to you? I've recently gotten interested in African music, for it's chant quality.
