It's not so much that I don't like the words. It's that I hate how overused they've become. Things that are "quirky" are just things that try too hard to be "different." Teenage girls who are "random" are, again, trying far too hard to stand out. Is this normal?
It's generally the words: weird, quirky, random, awkward... etc.
I like all of those words really. I also liked the word queer before it was used to describe homosexuality. I can understand why you would find their over-usage annoying though.
Well I feel you on the random thing, but I dont know anyone around here who overuses the word quirky. I like that word a lot haha, I like quirky films.
But ugh, back in high school every girl used to be posting stupid shit in their myspace about "im soooo random! bacon antelope and giggle farts! see how unique and random I am with my randomness???? DADDY DO YOU LOVE ME YET?!?"

Yes, I have a teenage daughter so everything seems to be "random". VERY annoying!
I'm absolutely the same way, people calling unique traits that people have quirks or calling goofy people random, it's stupid
I understand what you mean. I don't dislike those words, but I used to feel that way about the word; kinky.
I can see how that would be annoying. I was just thinking this about some other words, but can't think of what they are now.
I hate this at work, too. People seem to think certain words make them sound smarter and sometimes don't even know what those words mean.
I personally like those words too but... We're not random, you just don't think as fast as we do! ;D
I think "quirky" and "weird" are kinda cute.
It's normal. I get annoyed by some words too especially if it's a overused term.
