Yea, its not normal. I don't know what`s wrong with you, I would consult a doctor and make an appointment with a psychologist as soon as possible.
I'll probably get railed against for this, but I don't like the beatles, either.
They are the most overrated band of all time, in my opinion. Sure, a few songs I've heard might have been OK, but I don't like them enough to download them. Most of their solo work is cringe worthy too. So much so that I haven't even cared to give the other songs a go. That music just is not for someone like me.
I understand that music is subjective, I get that, but whenever I ask a diehard beatles fan(natic) "what makes them so awesome/amazing/timeless/geniuses etc,?" all I can get is how "they changed music!", or "if it weren't for the beastles your favorite bands wouldn't exist!", or "their music has changed my life!" and all I can think is, "Is that ~really~ the only reason?".
I can never get a good answer that satisfies my curiosity. And if I ask too much (I've always be polite when asking their fans about why they're so popular), it always seems like they become annoyed (almost as if they don't even know the answer) by my simple questions (that they should be able to answer with ease if they know why they're so great), and begin to tell me that I'll never understand because I'm not a fan (but maybe I would if they could just explain it to me). Maybe the one I've talked to are just morons? But being honest, I don't want nothing to do with people who will attack me simply because I. Don't. Like. The beatles.
I appreciate some Beatles. I admire the eclecticism in their music, which is something I continue look for in new music because it gives a lot of energy. On the other hand, I don't connect emotionally to their music. It's sappy pop rock without a message. The Beatles represent nothing I am interested in. They were a heavily commercialized pretense at rebellion.
No it's not normal, everyone loves the beatles go be reprogrammed, right now, now.
I think that their <a href="#" id="_GPLITA_0" in_rurl="http://i.txtsrving.info/click?v=U0U6NDI1MTM6NDQwOm11c2ljOjgzY2Q0MTFkMDRkZmE5ZTM3N2Y4NTdlMDg4OGM0ZWExOnotMTkyMC01MjM4OTU6aXNpdG5vcm1hbC5jb206NTQzNDQ6ODZkZmQ2ZGQ2MmZmZmQ0ODk4NDJiNDI0MTdhZWMxNjY6YWJkODAyZDY4ZTgyNGJmYzk0YjE5ZTYwOWNkOWMxMzM6MQ&subid=g-523895-7088462c632d42cea3c95fc5e23ebcba-&data_itn_test=20140702_t&data_tagname=DIV" title="Click to Continue > by PirritSuggestor" style="border: none !important; display: inline-block !important; text-indent: 0px !important; float: none !important; font-weight: bold !important; height: auto !important; margin: 0px !important; min-height: 0px !important; min-width: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; vertical-align: baseline !important; width: auto !important; text-decoration: underline !important; text-transform: uppercase !important; background: transparent !important;">music<img src="http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png" style="border: none !important; display: inline-block !important; text-indent: 0px !important; float: none !important; font-weight: bold !important; height: 10px !important; margin: 0px 0px 0px 3px !important; min-height: 0px !important; min-width: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; vertical-align: super !important; width: 10px !important; text-transform: uppercase !important; background: transparent !important;"></a> sucks
I listened to sergeant pepper the other day, meh, it's okay nothing special, it's like the idea of watching citizen Kane, it's so well respected and hyped that nothing can live up to all thr hype
then what does good music consist of then?
and i think it normal for someone to dislike 1 or more Super popular bands that people idolize.
I personally dont get why people love the grateful dead, or coldplay, or 90% of radiohead's songs. it all subjustive
With the vast variety of music recorded by the Beatles, it's pretty surprising that you can't find at least one song that you like. It seems like you probably haven't listened to very much of their music and are making your judgement on only a few songs.
