Is it normal that i don't like my friends coming to my house?

I don't know why, but I've never really been a huge fan of my friends coming to my house. There's a couple of exceptions, like my very best friend and my girlfriend, both of whom I love to have at my house, but the rest, I just don't like it.

I don't get anxious or angry or anything, but when someone says something like "let's go to your house" or "can I come to your house?" (the latter can be quite rude but I don't take it as rude), the idea of it just makes me cringe inside, and I try to think of excuses to not let them come. When they do come 'round because I can't think of a reason to not let them, I'm usually just waiting for them to leave.

My house isn't messy or embarrassing; it's always tidy and my family are really friendly people. I just hate people being in my house. I like going to other people's houses though.

  • I agree it is rude for someone to invite themselves over. I also know people who will ask if they can come along when I tell them I am busy. If I wanted them to come I would ask them myself.

I hate having people knock on my door and I will probably avoid you for showing up unannounced . I only like having people over for BBQs or parties / both , when I invite them .

I'm uncomfortable when people invite themselves over as well. I also can't stand it when someone asks to borrow my clothes or things, especially if I just met the person. Yuck, I'm not thangs lonely.

Me too! Well, I live in a one bedroom apartment with my mom, but before that we lived in a house, and I was always afraid I wouldn't be able to entertain them to the same level of fulfillment that we could find at their house.
