Is it normal that i don't like having friends?

I always find something wrong with the people I get close to. I'm still in high school and everyone I'm friends with is just so immature. I do have a lot of friends but I just like spending time alone and with my boyfriend better, maybe one day out of the week to be with friends if that. I just get tired of being out quickly and I want to go home after a few hours. Is it normal?

  • Everyone has flaws. When you are a friend, you look past those flaws and accept the person as they are because you hope that they will accept you as you are---flaws included.

I don't hang with my friends. I sometimes have to force myself to have a sleepover. Mostly it's because they can get annoying. But if a boy wants to hang I'm more than excited. Idk maybe were just more mature.

So it's not that you don't like having friends it's just that you don't like your current friends.

    Make new friends.

lol I don't like having friends at times when we can't figure out what we want to do and I want to do something completely different from them. If I was a more confident person I'd just go out and do what I wanted to alone.

  • know the feeling....i get teased because i like to be in bed by ten....I NEED SLEEP PEOPLE lol. You feel over mature its not your fault its just the way you turned out and you cant connect with others your age. Doesn't feel healthy not being able to mingle with your age group but i tend to be around people a lot older then me and i can have like minded conversation with. Socialize with older people if i get on with them, better then no one at all

I tend to choose spending time with my boyfriend over my friends a lot. I still hang out with my friends, but yes a lot of them annoy me. I can relate to you on that. I still love them though, and I'm thankful to have them all. And I do like alone time sometimes too, but I usually would prefer to be out and doing something with people.
Everyone has their own preferences. It doesn't seem like you're locking yourself in your basement never to have human contact again, so I think you're normal :b

I just didn't like the social scene at all in high school. Your friends now will mature in time and some will grow into better people to be around I'm sure. All the stereotyping, immaturity, naivety and vanity in high school drove me nuts.

Maybe you need to be a bit easier on your friends. I used to hate my friends too but I know now that I'm lucky to have them, blessed even.

Friends are overrated. Find something you like to do, not what others like to do, and then do it.
