Is it normal that i don't know what's normal?

I realized that while I regularly leave comments on this site, I very rarely cast a normalcy vote. The reason is that I simply don't know what's normal. I'm at least a little eccentric and really quite asocial, so attempting to properly assess human behavior seems rather futile to me.

I have no idea what to think about the vast majority of these stories. I'd really like to THINK that bestiality, incest and God-knows-what-else are absolutely abnormal, but the fact of the matter is that I'm just not sure. In fact, the more I hear about stuff like this, the more doubtful I am. It's a very common occurrence here for posts which I would personally consider absolutely deviant to receive shockingly high normalcy ratings.

Is it normal to be so reluctant to vote on posts simply because you're unsure of what is and isn't normal?

    If those posts are normal, I thank god for being abnormal. But in general, I have no idea what others think is normal and I don't really care. I try to respond with comments on what is normal for me. This does not mean my opinion is a "normal" one, it's just mine.

    The longer I visit this site, the more unsure of normalcy I am as well. I think that's kind of the point though.

    Normal is an obselete idea now, just about anything goes what was normal for your grandparents isn't normal for you nowadays. We don't make cars out of Metal anymore either.
