Is it normal that i don't have a best friend?

Everyone has a BFF somewhere, at some point in life. I never had one. I grew up with my mom moving me out of my school every year. couldnt keep friends. Now that i I am grown up, still dont have a best friend anywhere.
Is is product of my mom's traveling and relocating?

p.s = I am likeble and everyone likes me.exept most girls feel threatened by my looks. I hate this too.

    Hiya,

I think it's more of a younger person's thing too. I think it's one of those things people feel they should have. I always wondered what people with best friends did when they fell out.

I was the same way as a child except I would always have a best friend and then have to move away. By the time I became a teenager I just stopped being social and making friends because I was used to just starting from scratch every other year...The only friends i have now are people I have known since middle school and earlier (6 completely diff ppl).

I had besties when I was younger, but as an adult, I became reclusive, and currently do not have a bestie at this point in time. Guess it's one more thing to blame Asperger's on!

I always thought aspies and auties choice was to mind their own business and be alone. I guess i was wrong.

I do make efforts to be social sometimes. Although ten years ago, I pretty much rejected 99% of human contact. (Online as well as offline.)

Ah ok, that explains why you asked about my situation.

But back to the topic at hand, maybe the issue of having best friends is more of a younger person's thing? I've seen people taking pride in their besties up until high school, but never encountered anything like this during or after college.

I'm in my mid 30s and the fact that i no longer have a best friend really kills me. it hurts really bad. i can't call on anyone but my family to help me if i'm in a jam.

btw....OP....could you elaborate about your looks threatening girls please?

I'm not sure but maybe this might happen to me a little too...not sure.

I really wish I had that someone i knew was gonna be there for me. i guess is better not have false expectations about people and not to hurt myself.

  • It's normal, I don't have a bestfriend either. Maybe we're both not normal, oh well.
