Is it normal that i don't fear death anymore?

The other day me and my friends were robbed by armed burglars. My friends were shaking like crazy, but I didn't feel anything at the moment. On another ocassion, I saw how a car almost hit me, but I didn't even move.

I dont know, I am not suicidal or anything, but lately I just dont fear death, even if it is right there in front of me....

Well, if you're conscious that death is just a normal process of nature, that it depends on the balance and vital process of the planet, which happens before you're born, and not a unnatural occurrence that is cruel, gruesome and unfair, then it's ok...

more like feeling disillusionment with life in general, questioning if this existence is all we get to experience, what might be out there that we are clueless about because humans are inherently afraid of the unknown, realizing that millions of people have died unjustly, unfairly, when they could have been capable of achieving great things had they continued breathing, and knowing that our time and circumstances of our being are not as controlled and determined by our own skills and efforts as our egos would like to believe, that ultimately everything can be decided by the simple and random roll of a dice.

Man, I hate saying this but, I quite didn't fully catched what you're saying. Could you simplify your argument?
        Use the technique KISS, please.

  • I precisely didnt want to sound like a daredevil. It is not like I actually seek to be in the limit between life and death, I just feel like I dont have my "survival" chip well installed.

I'm the same. Though to be fair I do deal with depression and suicidality is not a rare occurence. I've had a gun held to my head and I didn't care. I actually antagonized the guy, insulting him, laughing at him, daring him to shoot.

Maybe it's partially an ego thing. Knowing that you don't care about death gives you immense power. A power that most people will never know.

I think the best is just being neutral, not wanting to die but also not fearing it. You can never avoid it in the end. I think I only slightly fear death, but not really a lot. I cant tell if I would actually be scared in a life threatening situation, but some of my dreams tell be that I dont

Do your beliefs have any affect in not fearing death?

Maybe it's like a post traumatic stress thing?

NO! This isn't normal. It goes right against your basic survival instincts. It's just not normal.

It is one thing to not fear death on a day to day basis, but it is another thing to not fear it at the moment there is a risk it may happen.
Though, I would guess, for some people it just doesn't induce them in the slightest extent.
