Is it normal that i don't care to lose weight?

So I posted a while ago asking if it was normal that I'm fat and just don't care to lose weight. Skinny people suck and are ugly in my opinion.

So anyway I am a 20 year old female who weighs 306 pounds. Recently friends and family have been telling me I'm getting too big for my own health, but I'm frustrated because I feel healthy aside from occasional shortness of breath etc. (I'm not rail thin after all)

So Recently I went to my doctor for a shot and after prodding my abdomen for a minute she said she could not administer it there because the layer of fat is far too thick. She really seemed more than a bit taken back at that. Also, although nothing was wrong with me she expressed a good deal of concern since my BMI is 42.5 and told me to lose some weight, especially because of all the belly fat I have. She claims it's unhealthy.

I will say I eat too much junk food and I might not excersize enough... I just really love food it's a big part of my life, & I feel pretty good. The only things that bother me are the obnoxious thin people always judging me.
So I'm wondering what you guys think, do I need to lose weight? How can I do it quick and easy? I hate excersize n diet.
Thanks!

I would highly recommend you lose weight.
I understand that you "feel fine" now, but that probably won't last for very long. Obesity accelerates the deterioration of your body and your organs and you run a very high risk of being 30 years old and dealing with health problems typical to Senior Citizens. It may seem like bullshit now, but you're going to suffer eventually. It's not just about looks and magazines. You're slowly killing yourself.

Agreed, shortness of breath for no reason when you are only 20 and supposed to be in your prime is a very serious sign. I'm very much into fitness and eating right (most of the time!) but a lot of us don't judge or bring down others because of their weight, I have never insulted someone about being overweight in my life. Being healthy doesn't mean you have to be thin, I have seen no evidence that an extra 20-30 lbs of fat has any negative impact on your health, but if you want to live a long healthy, disease free life you will need to lose weight. I understand that starting can be hard and scary, the first time I stepped into a gym I was terrified, but everyone I met was super nice, helpful and supportive.

  • Some people wrongly believe that because you are larger it somehow gives them the right to judge you and tell you all about their opinions on it.

However, she's your doctor and your health is her only priority; and she's right. It's no different than her telling a patient who's a smoker to quit smoking.

Not *all* skinny people "suck" or are "ugly" - that's only a negative opinion you've form because the people who tend to be rude to you the most are smaller than you. Don't be like them; don't judge them in the same way they judge you - it makes you just as bad as them.

No offence but well placed judgement is part of nature, being 306 lbs at that age isn't healthy, it's not about ugly at that point it's either start losing lbs or start digging a grave, lose some weight bud..

If you're really comfortable and you don't care and know all the risks it takes I say you don't have to.
But don't call other people ugly and say they suck just because they're different. Skinny shaming isn't the answer to fat shaming.

Since you ask, yes, you do need to lose weight.

I think I agree with you, that it seems that too many people judge and blame overweight people. Where I am, it can seem like health is the most important thing, and you are a bad person if you are unhealthy.

To some extent, it is good to hear about someone who does not care so much about being overweight, but there is a middle ground between skinny and 306 pounds.

I wouldn't advise you to try a quick-and-easy approach. You should rather change your lifestyle and eat less junk food and processed food.

The most important thing is how physically energetic or strong you feel. If you feel exhausted then losing a little weight, maybe 30lbs. should help. It is great that you are basically happy and content with yourself. Never let anyone get under your skin and pressure or "shame" you. You are beautiful the way you are. The consideration is only about medical body organ function questions. That is why you need to listen inward into your body to determine how it is doing.
