Is it normal that i don't care about the latest fashion trends?

So I don't really care about the latest fashion trends, nor do I try to wear things "before it was cool". However, people say that I have a great sense of fashion, and that I'm a hipster. I must admit that I listen to alternative music and vinyl, go to a liberal arts school, love coffee, and I guess I dress "hip" but that's because this is how I was raised. I've been drinking coffee since I was two, I've listened to music on vinyl since I was born (same goes for alternative music), and I dress this way because I think it looks nice. I have friends who try to be "a hipster" and it actually really annoys me at this point, the same goes for when people call me a hipster.

    Not hipster. Stuck in the 90s, yes. It doesn't matter whether or not you care about fashion trends, you are a product of them.

    I love my vinyl.

    I love my Alternative/post punk/no wave shit.

    I value the integrity of independant arts, and am very vocal about it.

    I love to dress oddly.

    But because I'm not rich, and never have been, I can't be termed a hipster.

      Who said hipsters have to be rich. If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck then it is most likely a duck, or a small chance of being a loon depending on the region and season.

        Originally a hipster was basically a trust fund kid that pretends to be a poor, struggling, alt, arty type.

        They live a kind of bohemian lifestyle, but are fake and come from well off families. That's why they're hipster, because they live this lifestyle but drive a BMW when nobody is looking.

        Many people today have no idea what a "hipster" actually is, they just mindlessly repeat the word.

    I have never understood why high society and celebrity women wear clothes designed by gay men. Why would any woman choose clothes designed by men who DO NOT LIKE WOMEN?
    Call me crazy, but if I were a woman, I'd want to have my clothes designed by someone who could appreciate how good I looked in their clothes.
    Just sayin...
