Is it normal that i don't care about other people's feelings?

I don't care about other people's feelings at all. I only keep good relations with people only if it benefits me. For example, I don't care if someone is upset with me unless continuing a relationship with them benefits me in some way. If someone is sad, I don't care at all. I'll only comfort them if I can get something from them in the future. I would care if someone DIED, but otherwise I'm completely non sympathetic towards other people's ailments and feelings.

So you are shallow, self-centred and greedy -- nothing to brag about. I'm sure if most people reciprocated by not giving a shit about how you feel you'd care real fast.

Which, if you look at history and society as a whole are pretty common traits to have.

OP, you should be a politician. You'll be among your kind.

sadly people look after number 1 to much and don't care who they trample on or hurt. At some point in this persons' life, he may live to regret this attitude.

You don't care about other people and their feelings. Isn't that being shallow? Don't you think thats being shallow? Being shallow has a lot to do with this.

        • Shallow is when you care about what people think of you.

No it's not normal. To empathize with others, there must be shared experience.

There's nothing wrong with looking out for number one. It's your life, after all. If people don't like it, they'll just have to deal with it.

I actually have some suspicions about when people call those like yourself things such as 'shallow, greedy' etc. Really, I think some of these people know that you're not going to do anything for them, and they don't like it.

Everybody is self-centred on some level. It's perfectly fine.

Do you think it's a problem? Do you think you should care? Are you worried something is wrong with you? Or are you just seeing who else is like you?

I can't work out the motivation for your question.

I usually can't. I am still considering typing out a generic answer for these questions, putting them on a word document and copy-pasting them onto every question like this because, despite their being clear instructions to search for this question on the search bar, these folks can't seem to figure it out =/

If it doesn't get in your way, then it's perfectly fine. People are quick to attach labels to people who aren't like them because they don't understand.

Just live your life how you like. After all, being your own top priority isn't a bad thing.
