I don't believe in evolution. Is this normal?

I don't believe in evolution. Is this normal?
Normal, a lot of people don't. Don't be surprised if you get ripped to shreds here for it, though.
I'm not worried about it. There's no way an intelligent human being with reasoning ability evolved from a single celled organism.
Completely normal. You are entitled to your opinion.
And this is coming from someone who believes in the Evolution theory.
You're free to believe in creation "science," a hollow earth theory, the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus, if you like. However, other people are free to suspect you're mentally diminished in some way when you tell them about your uninformed and groundless beliefs, even if they humor you and agree that the Tooth Fairy is very nice or the rate of radioactive decay isn't constant.
But sure, no one's going to stop you from holding your own uninformed opinion.
lots of people share in this belief - but it's literally the most backward thing. Evolution is scientifically the best explanation for life on earth. the big bang has been proven by observations of the most distant reaches of the space where remnants of the beginning of the universe can still be seen - it's called the cosmic microwave background and it proves that the world is over 4 billion years old. that's A LOT of time for evolution to occur.
Evolution says we complex, intelligent humans evolved from single-celled organisms. That couldn't happen if there were an infinite number of years.
What would cause a big bang when nothing existed in the first place? Perhaps an all-powerful Creator?
1. You don't need an infinite number of years for that, approximately 200 million is enough.
2. You make the mistake of assuming that 'nothing' can somehow exist, which is basically an oxymoron. Given the reality of a singularity, the universe cannot be preceded by anything because there is no 'before' the absolute beginning of time. It's like asking how many seconds passed on your stopwatch before you started it, it's a simple error. Also, how should causation take place without time? Timelessness, by definition is changelessness so the idea of a creation ex nihilo requires a sort of changeless change which is simply absurd. It is much more sensible to assume that the universe just is...Einstein's theory of special relativity shows that time frames are relative to the observer, so there probably isn't even an absolute beginning. The Big Bang does not need a cause because it's completely self sufficient in this way.
I understand your point.
With the creator thing, how did the creator come to exist?
"That couldn't happen if there were an infinite number of years."
You forgot to add "Source: My ass (2013)"
Please do not use -ists or -isms.
Please use 'life forms', instead, or describe the particular life form in a more accurate way.
Thank you.
'Evolution', is not a 'belief'.
It is a fact, which has been proven in many ways.
It is completely normal to have opinions and beliefs. Whats not normal is to disagree with something that is 100% factually true.
Let say we are together and I show you a penny. No one out there would say, I don't believe it is there.
Sure we can argue about the matrix etc, but you can hold and see the penny. Your 'belief" wouldn't matter as the penny is there in front of you.
Now I won't argue about the big bang or humans stemming from a single cell, but to say that actual evolution isn't true, well you can believe or not all you want, but it is 100% true and factual. There is no reason to talk about religion or anything, but to say something like all dolphins aren't related..well that makes you just dumb. All life has evolved to fit its environment.
I just always wondered why people care? I know how I personally got here, I don't know why I exist...but I try to make the most of it.
