Is it normal that i develop feelings for video game characters?

Specifically female characters. These feelings are so strong that I sometimes have dreams about them or even look for *ahem* porn about them. Currently I am playing the witcher 3, great game by the way, and I think I'm in love with Yennefer. Is this normal?

Generally speaking, most fictional characters are designed specifically for you to be able to have feelings for them, of various sorts. You're supposed to "buy" that they're real people, as much as possible.

Speaking specifically of the Witcher games, you can tell just from the marketing that they bank on people like you. XD

I agree with this summary. Additionally, it can feel safer with a video game character as opposed to real life. The game will never leave you. Perhaps you fear rejection...just food for thought.

Sometimes if a game has a good storyline, i do relate to the characters. Its just like having feelings for someone in a film or tv show.
