I don't mind the taste of coconut but the texture it's usually associated with is horrible in my opinion.
I like coconut milk and ice-cream, but I can't stand the shreds in food. I feel like they ruin good dishes. I remember when I used to go to church there was this overweight lady, who was a fantastic cook, she would often make desserts for the church. I used to LOVE her cheesecake and once I got myself a slice of what I thought was regular cheesecake, but when I took a bite out it I was extremely disappointed to find out that it had coconut in it!!!!!
I do not like coconut.
I hate the smell.
I hate the taste.
I hate the texture.
I hate how it is a popular scent for girly perfumes and lotions. To me, it smells cheap and funky.
I do not like coconut.
Despise? Wow. That's a very polar extreme of emotion for a foodstuff. It sounds like you're going to war with them and won't settle until you have executed every last one of them and cured the world of their blight.
Personally, I like coconut quite a lot. For me, the things I don't like are pineapple, kaffir lime leaves, milk, lemongrass, Thai basil, coriander, sprouts, carrots, butterscotch, tea, and the Frank's Red Hot sauce that Dominos use (I have rarely tasted anything more foul and it's not even hot, it's just vinegary and unpleasant).
How could you!!?? :O It is probably the healthiest food you could ever eat as it is packed with vitamin C and acquires antioxidants. It's middle is highly nutritious and is often referred to as : "the fruit of life" And I HATE Tomatoes! Haven't been able to stand them ever since I was little >.<
It's not high in vitamin C and it is packed with saturated fat. It's really not all that healthy. If you eat it, it's best to eat it in "small" portions. It still has good amounts of fiber of course and iron and folate and potassium.
I think you need to do some research before going ahead and making unjust comments, as you are clearly ignorant.

I'm not being completely "ignorant" here.
It's high in saturated fat... good in potassium, folate and fiber. It's not high in Vitamin C. It's best to be used for athletes too.
But OK, it's healthier from what I had said on my last comment. Don't say I'm the only one that was ignorant here though. There ARE many studies that talk about how bad it is for you too, due to the fact of how many more deaths there are in singapore due to the oils they eat. And then there are other studies talking about how great they are for you. Then there are studies about weight gain and weight loss and that it really doesn't do either. There is just a lot of confusion in the health of coconut whether it's the coconut itself, the milk or the oil of it.
But I do see it being healthier than what some of the studies say.
hmm I see what you mean however, what do you mean that studies have shown that coconut oil is real bad and Singapore people have died from it..? O.o Is that really true or is it related to other fatty oils like fried stuff? And yes I guess it is a little fatty but it's definitely better than other fatty shit food, you can't even compare it as coconut fat is all natural.
Yeah it still is a hell a lot better than hydrogenated fats. It's natural and plus they say that it's for sure better than any animal fat.
Also after reading further into that one article (which I can't find now) they were saying they really don't know if it was the coconut that caused the deaths. You know research though they go from one thing to the other; like coffee for an example they were saying how bad it was for you and now they are saying it's not as bad as they thought. Same goes for wine and beer and whatever else. I don't follow and just not overdose myself with anything, which I just don't over eat or drink.
I don't know what it is people like about coconut. If I were in a deserted island with nothing else to eat, I'd be glad to have at least that. But given other alternatives, I just don't get it.
I try not to be too picky with food as it has caused me a lot of grief over the years. But I don't care for cabbage very much. Saurkraut and kimchi don't appeal to me much. And I'm getting tired of cumin as my roomy puts it in everything. And while I like the taste of corn, it is something I have grown a deep hatred for. I am allergic to it and it is in nearly everything. I am not a picky eater, just sensitive. I hate it. I miss out on a lot of shared meals because of it. It sometimes makes me very sad.
Yep.. Bounty is my least favourite chocolate bar. Or for you Americans out there I think the equivalent is called a Mounds bar.
I don't mind chunks of real coconut though although its nowhere near my favourite ... I just realised that I don't know if a coconut is a fruit, nut or what..?
Onions, I have to read ingredients of everything I buy cause heaven help me if I find out theres one onion flake I gag and feel sick... Haha
my least favorite food, well any rice with soy sauce on it is. and okras have a bad taste to me. and i guess thats it for me i can't think of anything else right now.
I love coconut and coconut water with pulp in it. Hmm what do I dislike? Umm...maple syrup is revolting and should burn in hell with ketchup and relish and sauerkraut. Arugala is gross. Most seafood makes me want to yak.
Of course it's normal to dislike things. I hate cheese. All though, there is some I enjoy. But not most of it. It just makes me gag for some reason.
not so bad with coconut...its honey I have a problem with...honey flavored is fine actual honey itself I find just too sickly
hehehe no the b is part of my surname...id like honey if it was sweet to me but i find it too sickly
