Is it normal that i daydream about becoming a vampire?

The first book by Anne Rice that I read was "Queen Of The Damned." It was all about vampires and their relationships. About a fourth of the way into it, I realized that it wouldn't be so bad drinking blood from a human if it caused you to live forever, and so I began fantasizing about becoming a vampire and living forever.

Anne Rice went clear back to the days of the pharaohs and it occurred to me that it would be interesting to be able to look back over history as one who had lived it, since it would be so much more vivid than merely reading about it. In addition, the special powers like flying and super strength would be a bonus.

is it normal to want to become a Vampire and live forever?

  • I can sorta relate. Living forever has always appealed to me. Can you imagine what a man who had lived from the dawn of civilization until now would have to say?

All the things he'd have to say about life, people, civilizations, love, hate; the stories he'd have to share.

This is exactly what I'm speaking of, the bird's eye view you would have of history and the wisdom derived from the experience.

I used to daydream about this when I was 9 but sadly knew that it could never happen. Then I got older and realized how much it would suck to be a vampire. No sun, no reflection, you have to be invited in, can't be too close to a church, no pizza, no cross...how the fuck does anyone get killed by a vampire?!

Vampires are pretty awsome, but they have too many weaknesses for me to actually want to be one. I'd rather just have my own as a pet.

Well it's probably for the best that I'm not a vampire. Otherwise, JLo would get bitten.... probably on her ba-donk-a-donk instead of her neck.

Power and immortality always draws in the weak. But as long as you don't sparkle, all the more power into you.

There's a whole community of people who believe in real vampires from all around the world, but apparently you have to be born one to be one. *shrugs*

Dude. Why straight to Queen of the Damned? Skipped the best two.
Normal to daydream, not normal to let it colour your day to day life.

Queen Of the Damned was merely the first of her books I ran accross and I didn't obsess over it for long, a couple weeks actually.

The modern new age vampires is so romanticized. I would never want to be the old fashioned and original ones. They are nothing but evil and they cooperate with the devil himself. Would you want that?

Anne Rice makes it sound so beautiful, so I have had that fantasy as well.

Sure, just don't become so obsessed on your fantasy that you lose sight of reality.
