Is it normal that i'd rather spend my time day dreaming than going out

I daydream alot and I've created my own little paralel world where I don't exist but I have made up people in there and people from my class at school. The main person in my world has all the personality traits that I don't. It worries me that I would rather spend my time daydreaming about my little world then actually face reality or go out socialising with my friends.

Every IIN member shares this with you to some extent.

  • I'd say that this is normal. I do it all the time. The key is to try to allow yourslef to think about your other world only at specific times. I usually do it when I am falling asleep or watching tv or doing something else that that wouldn't affect my life if I wasn't paying attention. But I also think about it when I'm around friends and family. I don't think that its a bad thing that you do this, but just try to go out and think or day drem at the same time so people don't get worried about you.

I'm the same way, except I daydream that I'm the person, but I have all the traits I want in real life. I will daydream in class, while driving (I know thats bad) and especially when I'm falling asleep. My advice is allow yourself to daydream, but put yourself, the way you really are, into the senariors. Don't daydream about other people. Hope it helps!

I used to be that way, I felt depressed because I wanted to possess so many characteristics that I thought as impossible for me to actually have.. This is what I did, the things you dream about doing, do them. You want to learn how to speak french, then take a class. If you want to learn how to play guitar, find someone to teach you.

I do that. I do that so much that when me mum used to ground me she would take away electronics like my CD player (wow that makes me feel old) but i could still leave the house she said i didn't need any help being antisocial :)

i think it's normal but idk that it means much

I don't know, but I do the same thing. I'd rather sit and stare at nothing while I'm stuck in my world than go out and have fun with friends.
