Is it normal that i'd rather have spiders than flies?

Whenever I saw a spider in my house, I usually let it live there, because I absolutely hate flies and other tiny insects like mosquitoes and moths, etc... So I decide to leave them there because they eat the smaller insects that I can't stand. I don't love them, but I just don't think they are totally disgusting or creepy. But I do think insects like flies are disgusting, so I want them gone. Is this normal?

    If you want a spider as a pet, don't get them from a store. You can get them for nearly nothing off the web.

    tie your trash bags closed.you ever see flies inside your trash bags? they were BORN there,so always tie your trashbags completely closed,that will prevent ALOT of flies from gettin in yo home

    Spiders (creepy though they may be) are a beneficial part of the natural cycle, taking care of all those disease spreading insects you just mentioned. A bit unusual that you appreciate them without feeling a little creeped out, but perfectly normal otherwise.

    Flies are annoying but they only have a short lifespan so I tend to leave them be and leave a door open to encourage them to leave. I really really don't like spiders though so if there is one in the house I tend to catch it and realease it outside. I see your logic though, and it seems perfectly normal :)

      But by leaving your door open you also invite flies in. They might have been munching on a lump of shit outdoors before they munch on food left on your counter top.
