You remind me of myself. Sad songs make me cry, memories make me cry, missing my friend who I just recently said goodbye makes me cry... For me, I have no problem. I have a fine self esteem, lots of friends, and a great life. Crying is just a way to get my emotions out. Sounds pretty fine to me, unless crying is disrupting your everyday life. Then you should seek help.

You remind me of myself - very sensitive and suffering from low self-esteem. On the more extreme side you may have depression, it would be a good idea to get evaluated for that if you cry multiple times every single day.

I won't try a diagnosis on here, but suffice it it say you need to consult your doctor for a referral to a therapist. Constant crying isn't normal, and you CAN change, but you may need help. You deserve a better life; goodluck.

Those things you listed, are perfectly normal things to cry about.

    • Those are not normal things to cry about, especially if they do it every time. Crying over unnecessary events usually means someone either has a psych problem or is dealing with a problem that isn't going away and that there is actually a bigger problem than the little things that appear to everyone else to be the problem.

Crying is a response to emotions in humans. This behaviour is communicational. People cry because it release, or they feel "cleansed" when they do so, others have forgotten how it feels to cry, and don't miss it.

Crying has been proven to make people feel better, afterwards. Crying makes people take bigger breaths which reduces and calms the negative feelings in a person. The calming effect of crying last longer than the negative feelings which makes crying associated as something positive.

At night when you are going to sleep, you have a lot time to think. And negative things easily comes up. Sad songs can effect people in many different ways, which is obvious, someone getting angry at you can result in strong shameful feelings and stress is a something that is exhausts the body and mind. It needs relief and there comes the crying.
