Is it normal that i complain about overpopulation?

Do you want to know why I complain about it so much and how everyone should limit their reproduction to 1 or 2 kids? I do it because it's the only real thing I can do and there's not enough people in the world that care about Overpopulation as much as I do and will do anything to get a Child Limit enforced all over the world as well as global contraception programs and access to abortion including the abolishment of every known Pro-Natalistic religion. Hell, at the rate we're going, encouraging massive incidence of suicide every year will greatly help our situation too. One person can't change the world and my viewpoints are a minority. It is folly. There's no realistic thing that I can do to improve life on a large scale and make overpopulation a less severe thing. I could always take my life once I reach a certain age but there'd be 3 or 4 more people to be born in my place so it'd be pointless and not help one bit. That's why I keep bringing it up on IIN. Because that's something I can actually do alone and hope that it'll actually open some people's eyes. But apparently to all the comments and users I encounter on here, I can't even verbally get people on my side. I'm fighting a hopeless battle so why should I go out and actively try fighting this? What can I honestly do, IINers? What. Can. I. Do? I'd love some advice or answers on this. But yeah though. There's no possibility of opening everyone's eyes and preventing this and actually saving mankind from it's own irresponsibility and blindness. It's like what George Carlin once said, "Humans are fucked." That we are, that we are. But that doesn't mean we have to be.

      Exactly.

Almost 50% of the world population lives in a country with sub-replacement fertility - i.e. the birth rate is too low to replace the current population. Most of us on this website do.

It's the other 50% that continues the global population growth through high fertility rates and emigration, although that growth is definitely slowing. The most effective way to slow it even further is through improving economic and social conditions in those countries on your list (notice they're all incredibly poor, often war-torn nations).

OP is either trolling or needs to read more.

Why do I feel this is a troll's attempt to capitalise on our recent spate of overpopulation posts and our general antipathy towards them?

The population will continue to rise and by the end of the year 2025 there will be about 9 billion people. You just have to accept it! Nothing you can do about it hippie!

    GET OVER IT!

Smart people use birth control. Dumb people don't. As time goes on smart people are selected out of the population of ever dumber people. Nobody can stop fucking.

    Embrace your doom.

I`m all for voluntary sterilisation, & offer people money for it. It would be so much cheaper to give welfare claimants a one off payment instead of letting them have kids & costing the government a fortune for years of child support. It`s sad that most people don`t think this way, 7 the rate that the human race is going, there`ll soon be mass starvation & disease form overcrowding. that will solve the problem!

  • I agree with some of your opinion but not all of it.
I do agree we are overpopulated but I don't agree with forced abortion or encouraging suicide.
I do believe that certain people should be sterilized, specifically people who have shown to be violent, neglectful, or recurrently addicted to drugs, as those people should not raise kids.
I also think there should be a $1,000 reward offered to anyone who chooses to get sterilized. All the crackheads would take that offer on the spot and $1,000 is nothing compaired to the government supporting them raise a kid. They could possibly even make it a $10,000 reward and I'll bet way more people would do it and it would help the economy in the long run.
You should go to college and be a polititian so that you can encourage your ideas. I would be glad for you to steal my get paid for sterilization plan.
