Is it normal that i compare myself to other people my age?

I always compare myself to other people. I will actually look famous people up and see what they were doing at my age to see how successful they were by then. I look at people I went to school with on Facebook to see what they have accomplished up to this point in their life. Is it normal to compare myself often like this?

Don't compare yourself to celebrities. They aren't even human.

This isn't very healthy. Just be you regardless of what other people do and how they got where they are.

    Yes, it is normal.

But it's best not to do that. Everbody is different. Everybody has their own insecurities, flaws and strengths. Nobody is better than anybody; we are human.

You just got to be positive and keep striving for "your own" goals. Be patient with yourself because being patient makes you life much better. But don't give up on your goals and life. Life does need to be treated precious not like it's some sorta game with others.

"One reason we struggle with insecurity: we're comparing our behind the scenes to everyone else's highlight reel."

Set personal goals. Envy can be used to fuel ambition but be very careful with it because jealous emotions can be quite selfish and lead to regrettable actions. Take small comfort with each accomplishment, don't forget to reward yourself or acknowledge your achievements, however minor. Its natural to compare but in the end you are your own person running your own race.

I think most people do that. If they're honest. I haven't got a facebook page and I want nothing to do with it either. As I would get very jealous if I found out an old friend was doing better than me or had more money than me.! xx

If your trying to acheive greatness and to out do your neighbor there is nothing wrong with it. When I started my career at 14 I already had in my head "I am not average nor common as everyone else. I am better." I am my own competition and inspiration."
If looking at others inspires you that fine. But when you inspire yourself thats awesomness
