Is it normal that i choose exercising over my social life?

It's not like I don't go out with people anymore, but many times I choose going to the gym instead of spending time with friends or family. I just love and enjoy exercising, it makes me so happy about life that I'd rather exercise than go out. I don't care at all if I have to give up my "social time" to spend it at the gym. Normal?

Letting anything come in between spending time with family and friends is not normal. The gym might be fun, but in the long run it's not helping.
What happens if you don't go to the gym? If you weren't allowed to go for a week? How would you react?

I have chosen my bulimic rituals over family in the past and it was okay at first but then I felt so alone and bottled up. Devote some time to your family and friends granted though you don't have to spend every free time you have with them you're not obligated to do so you have your own life. You can try designating some days to spend time with them like lunch on fridays, jogs with them in the mornings etc

I think someone needs a hug.

I think it's normal, just don't overdo it.

Here's a thought. Do both. Go to the gym with your friends, and exercise at home and get your family to join in. It's great for stress anyway. You CAN enjoy your hobby as its your life, your time, just know your limits.
