Is it normal that i carpet burn my toes to itch them?

Whenever my toes itch I will rub them against a carpet, or "carpet burn" them. My friend makes fun of me for it but it really helps.

    I do that too. It's much better than itching with my fingers and gets the scratch away quicker and it strangely feels good
