Is it normal that i care about a copycat friend at my age?

I'm newly in my 30s, and I seem to have an immature outlook about someone much younger than me I still consider a friend no matter what.

She seems to copy a lot of the things I say on the internet. Like I would make a status on FB about my gear, and then a few months later, she'd do the same exact thing. It's happened 2-3 times. Not much, but enough for me to react with "WTF?" to myself.

I don't really care if she's just thinking what I say is cool but I'm bothered that she couldn't be more original about it.

Well, this really does go way back. Before it was gear, she would always try to relate to everything I said. And in a way that her situation was either worse off or better. I don't even talk like this to my BFF. I think I'm just bothered by her because she seems to be tagging along to a lot of things I do, and she wants to outdo me.

Immature, right?

i thought about removing her, and all that stuff tempting for me to "break" off ties. but she is "close" to all my other friends, she's married to someone i consider a brother, and it's probably going to do more bad than good. she did it again with a fb comment recently... i left a greeting on someone's wall, and the next day, she left a similar greeting to another person i am close to.

i really am trying to find a way to catch her and call her out without being the idiot. in the meantime, all i can do is vent anonymously.

I totally feel your pain and you have every right to piont out it out. Tell her to get a life and make her own fb status or why don't you just put her on limitt profile so that way she won't sneak and look at yours. I would just fully remove her, but that's just me being rude loll

I had blocked her from my FB feeds... but I still checked her profile because yes---I needed to know what she was saying.

Well, let's just say that one of her status updates and a picture of her gear pretty much copied what I said about my status update and picture of my gear a few months before that. And when I happen to share on FB that I saw one of our mutual friends, I'd notice that she'd invite the same exact friend and then post up all their pictures together yada yada yada.
Can't completely ignore her though, I already have a feeling she thinks that's what I'm doing. Like I said, we're friends. Not enemies at all. I'm just bothered to know that she's "copying" stuff I say.

Seriously. I'm in my 30s, and I feel really stupid even thinking about this. But I'm on this site for that very reason :(
I have been thinking of creative ways to "jokingly" call her out, but I would sound like the bigger idiot even bringing it up.

I can see that'd be a bit annoying. I'm 21, and my best friend kinda looks up to me, and I've noticed that I'll make a joke about something, and then a week or so later we'll talk about the same topic and she'll make the same joke back to me that I made to her! I just call her out on it in a jokey fashion, dunno if you could try doing the same?

There's your problem. You're reading her Facebook.

And you're lying to yourself about not caring. If you truly didn't care you wouldn't pay her any attention or check up on her FB to see whether or not she's copying you.
