Is it normal that i cant remember?

i only really remember 4th or 5th grade and up of my childhood. like i cant really think of things before that, without the help of pictures and stories etc. is this normal?

    I'm 22 and remember only some bits of my childhood. And I don't even have clear memories about stuff that happened, but only parts of the memories. Like I remember saying something to another person, but can't remember what he answered, or vice versa.

    I would say that is normal... I think. :)
