Is it normal that i cant eat and listen to my ipod at the same time?

ya so i always listen to my Ipod. when ever i get in the car i listen to my Ipod. but if we get fast food or im eating at home, i cant listen to my Ipod adn eat at the same time. i can listen to music and eat if its playing from a speaker or something but not my Ipod. IIN?

        I'm not sure if it's normal or not, but when it's uncomfortable for me to eat with my headphones on. It just feels kind of weird.
