Is it normal that i can't wear heels?

I'm 18 but whenever someone gives me shoes with a heel more than 1 inch, I feel like a giraffe. I can't walk properly and with a school dance coming up, I really don't want to wear my converse shoes again.

    There are tutorials on YouTube on how to walk in heels. They can be pretty helpful.
