Is it normal that i can't stop plucking my eyebrows and eyelashes?

It started during my senior year of high school. I used to get my eyebrows waxed and the woman who did them plucked too much off of one eyebrow so it left a little bald patch but it wasn't anything really ridiculous looking. I probably noticed it about a few weeks after I got my eyebrows done and I just randomly started plucking around it with my fingers and then I started doing it to the other eyebrow because I think it had a little bald patch too and then my eyelashes. But I only do it with my fingers, it doesn't really hurt but I wish I could stop. I do it to my brother too, but it isn't really a bid deal because he has such hairy eyebrows that you can't tell that I plucked them. I used to pluck his mustache hair too but he said it hurts so I stopped. I have to draw on my eyebrows now and I'm scared that I'll pluck my eyelashes so much that they won't grow back even though only about five or so are plucked out when I mess with them. I feel like I can't stop though, and I hate it. I don't know what to do.

Yeah I agree with everyone else. I had that too. It wasn't fun...like I had to get fake eyelashes and draw on my eyebrows. People thought the fake eyelashes were cool and would say "woa...I can't even see your real eyelashes under those. That's so cool." Yeah...cool. The day I plucked all my eyelashes was the worst day in the world. My mom got up from her nap and I wouldnt look her in the face, when I did she looked so pained and hurt. At the time I thought she thought I was disgusting and I broke down crying. I was thirteen at the time.

Whatever, as I was saying. My family helped some. They were always, annoyingly, on my back about it. I was embarrassed but I stopped. For the most part...
My eyebrows are all back and my eyelashes too. They're just thinner and shorter then they used to be but with mascara you can't tell. I wouldn't recommend mascara though because it always made me want to pluck them more to get the crud off of my eyelashes. Gosh I was so bad at one point I plucked 70 at a time. The counting helped. It made me disgusted with what i was doing but at the same time it was like a sick competition i had with myself and it was so bad...I'm glad that point in my life is over and done with.

NEVER AGAIN. Please seek some help from family, friends, or a therapist.

Yes, some form of OCD. Professional help may be the answer.

It might be trichotillomania. You should read about it.

My son does this and has for a couple of months. It's part of Tourette's Syndrome. It won't kill you and it will go away in a couple of years, but you still need to see a therapist.

I have the same problem. Sometimes I don't realize I'm doing it until someone tells me I am. :/

Stop as soon as possible. Wear gloves or socks to bed. My Mom constantly did this constantly when I was young. It forced us to move several times but it never did any good. Wherever we lived, I was still the son of a mother plucker.
