Is it normal that i can't stand my own hometown?

My Hometown literally makes my skin crawl sometimes. All the crazy things that go on here, especially in my school - the drug busts, the sex scandals both with students and teachers, and all the drug use that goes on - drive me batshit crazy. I get High School isn't exactly rated G, but honestly, enough is enough. The majority of the people in this town, which I dispassionately dubbed Hicksville, USA, are racist ass fools that don't care about anything but drugs. Do I have a stick up my ass or something or am I right to feel like this? I'm not proud to be from here at ALL. In fact, I can't wait to get outta here. Thoughts? And when I say thoughts, I mean of the non smart ass variety.
