Is it normal that i can't stand cold weather/ac?

Being in a cold room or a room with AC, driving with the AC on, winter time (omit snow - none of that where I come from), early mornings (I'm talking 4-6am), air blowing on my skin if I'm sweating...I just can't take it. Everyone thinks I'm weird because I can't stand the cold, but I can take heat in various forms, and! I never ever ever get fevers. When the AC is on in the car, I have to smoke a cigarette as an excuse for my passenger or the driver to roll down the windows instead. I can't sleep in a room when the AC is on. Weird? Normal or no?

I'm the exact opposite. I love the cold and despise the heat. Although, I don't find a love of heat to be abnormal.

I don't love heat, I just don't mind it. Someone suggested I'm anemic?

Why would you anemic? You don't mind heat but you hate the cold, right? Still, I wouldn't say you're abnormal.

I don't like air conditioning much, either. But then, we don't really have it here. We just swelter. In general, though, I'm the opposite of you. I don't mind the cold at all. In the past year, I've only turned the heating on for one day in January. The temperature indoors got into the minus figures, but I just put on more clothes and got under my duvet. I had a cold nose but I can live with that.

Ooh, where I live, you pretty much have to have AC. People die in the heat sometimes. Some people really do keep their AC on too cold though.

In some ways, we're lucky here. It never really gets below -15°C and never gets above 35°C. Most often, the weather is cruising between -5°C and 25°C. For instance, we're in mid-July in the northern hemisphere and it probably won't get much past 20°C today.

The downside is that we're totally unprepared for extreme weather in either direction. We don't have snow tyres or A/C, so people die in both extremes here too. Not because of the extremity, just the unpreparedness.

Not in my book. I love the cold and hate the heat, I hope one day to be able ice skate in my livingroom, jk

I love the cold. Can't sleep when it's hot. No AC in my house. I do the happy dance when winter comes. No snow where I live but still love It cold.

im exactly like you and i cannot stand cold even one bit. sometimes people think i'm exaggerating when in fact, i'm not. even after i've gained weight, i still feel cold, no matter what. when it gets cold at work or at home, i just stay in one position to warm myself up because the slightest move will add up to the coldness. i always end up getting sick and taking medical leave from work and i cannot let it continue. i'm afraid one day i will be fired because of frequent medical leaves :(

You should move to a very hot climate with no A/C available and soon you will wish you had cold A/C air blowing on you.

Me too. I'll be the only one shivering uncontrollably in the room while everyone else seems to be comfortable.

        Anemic? bahaha :)

I think it's normal if it's only a mild discomfort.

A lot of the time I can't stand it. I walked into work today and they had the air on. It was FREEZING. I went to the bathroom and I couldn't stop shaking. It was like I was naked outside in a blizzard. lol. Everyone always says my hands are freezing, not sure if it's all normal but something tells me it's not.

No, it's a really bad feeling, not just mild discomfort

I'm the opposite; I thrive in cold temperatures. Cannot stand it when it gets over 70 degrees wherever I am. I love sleeping in a very cold room so I can wrap myself up into a giant blanket cuccoon.

    You seem normal to me.

it's just odd - i'm not comfortable unless it's around 75 degrees or over. anything below that, and I need 2 jackets while i'm stuck in the fetal position. lol.

Growing up, my house was heated by one wood stove downstairs, and my bedroom was upstairs under a tin roof, so it was outside temp. in my room. Its quite a feeling going to bed, only to wake up thirsty and realize my glass of water had frozen!
