Is it normal that i can't sit through even one sitcom on tv?

Maybe I'm getting old, but situation comedies on broadcast TV now are not only not funny; they get on my nerves: some family or friends sit in a room and lob insults, bad pop culture references (that no one will understand in a year or two), then the laugh track plays loudly.

It seems there are the same comic writers behind the scenes of all these shows with one variation or another. The only thing different is the sexual inuendos have gotten extreme.

My favorite thing in life is to laugh, giggle, and see the world in a new way with friends. I like making a great time out of an ordinary, or even negative situation. The last show that was actually funny was Seinfeld. And he knew when to quit. Unlike that sow Roseanne, and the dry as a bone show Frasier.

I can't watch American sitcoms and I'm bummed about it. I have to search the internet to find shit to download out of England, or Canada, or even Germany. Kind of sad. Things suck now.

Search for Peep Show if you haven't seen it yet. You'll like it, trust me.

I looked it up, yes it is another British comedy.

That makes my point about broadcast American sitcoms-just stupid. Oh well, what do we expect from a country that just put Obama back in office.

I guess I was kind of vague. Maybe it sounded like "if you think American TV is bullshit, then watch Show and it will completely change your mind". What I meant was "I see you are done with American TV and looking for entertainment elsewhere. [Good for you, BTW]. You should look into Peep Show".

"Modern Family" was kind of funny, although I've only watched a few episodes.

Was the father shown as some bumbling idiot? (unless he is black, then of course not.)

Hollywood goes out of their way to make fathers stupid, simple and out of touch, and wives and the children smart and always save the day. SO WORN OUT.

It has really warped society. There is a group of people behind a lot of this when I did some investigating, but I will leave it out of the discussion.

There is an entire post about that. (Assuming it's not yours), if you haven't seen it, you'll be quite interested:

When I look at the history of American television, only a small percentage of the sitcoms were truly funny. There are old shows that are still popular, and I can't understand why. "I Love Lucy" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show" were rarely funny, in my opinion. Here's a list of what I feel were the best sitcoms of their decades:
    1960s--The Andy Griffith Show
    1970s--All in the Family
    1980s--Cheers
    1990s--Seinfeld
    2000s--King of Queens

Just my opinion. Many of you may not agree, or may have ones that you could add.

It's normal. I watched this show once, I forgot what it's called but it had something to do with three broads running around partying and getting stuck in sticky situations.
My faith in humanity, along with several thousand of my braincells took a running leap of a building that day.

Try Dad's Army and Fawlty Towers. And The Office.

Everyone recommends The Office to me, but it has some of the same problems most do.

For stupid office comedies I like Workaholics, but again, that is cable.

There's not enough sex on sitcoms especially with minors

Sex would be fine on one of these shows, but instead all they do is talk about it. Along with a million stupid worn our penis jokes.
