Is it normal that i can't say no to people?

Basically, at home with my family I can say no to things, but if I'm out somewhere, even at school, for some reason I can't say no. I think people can take advantage too. I feel like I'm being mean or something, like if I don't help them with their work, let them see my iPod, share things, etc.

(I don't know if age makes a difference for this sorta thing, but I'm a Junior in High) =0

    I used to be like this. Then one day I realized that people have said no to me. Why can't I say no to them?
    My friend told me a story of when she was in elementary school, some kid asked to borrow her pencil and returned it with bite marks all over it, broken tip, with a missing eraser. Yes, it's just a pencil but that isn't the point lol.

    So now, when someone asks me for something ( like in class etc) I ask myself, "do I care more about my belongings or an acquaintances gratification?"

    Saying no to friends is a different story though haha.

    It's normal, you'll grow out of it soon enough. It's better to say no once than to say yes, and then start the search of how to get yourself out of that 'yes.'

    You have to learn how to say no. Teach yourself how to do it. Start saying no to things little by little you'll get used it. Soon you're going to be in situations where you have to say no. Learn from now that you're young before you become an adult and get yourself in lots of trouble.
