Is it normal that i can't lose weight?

All through high school, I was a little overweight, but I never gained or lost much. Even though I was in basketball, track, cross country, and cheerleading, (Over 3 hours of hard core exercise/day, 5 days/week) and was on weight watchers for over a year, I never lost more than 5 pounds. I am 5'2 and weigh 145. Is this normal?

Your weight is directly related to the food you eat. A nutritionist will be much better able to tell what (if anything) is wrong. A doctor is not trained for food issues. It is possible that you have an under active thyroid but a doctor that specializes nutrition will be able to see this.

What you need to understand is that a food labeling is propaganda. It wants you to by the food, not educate you on proper nutrition. I recently compared my full fat yogurt with Danon Lite to find it contained the same amount of calories. Danon only used the Lite for marketing reasons and put fake sugar in it instead of real fruit. It did have more fat, but this was the kind of fat that is good for your body.

Also, cutting wheat out makes most people drop weight quickly.

    Good luck!

That doesn't sound very overweight to me but if you want to lose weight, I would check out Inherent Health Genetic Tests online. They'll send you a test kit, you swab your mouth and send it in, and they'll test it and send you information based on your DNA on how to lose weight.

Thanks! I'll definitely have to try this. I'm going to the doctor next week, so maybe she'll be able to help!

I lost 2 stone and I have PCOS where a symptom is difficulty losing weight. You just have your meals about 3 or 4 hours apart and drink plenty of water.

    My diet was:-
Breakfast- Porridge OR Cereals & Glass of water.
Lunch- 2 slices of brown bread toast & Glass of water.
Dinner- Anything you've cooked & Glass of water.
Snack- A small treat... could be chocolate, cake, fruit.

    My excercise was:-
Walk the dog twice a day around the block.

Haha yeah! I tried blaming my metabolism. Then I tried doing that whole eat six small, healthy meals a day thing to to raise your metabolism. It's all lies!

No, not at all. Check a doctor. He will find the problem and help you. (not a nutritionist since it probably another problem).
