I can't get over my first girlfriend a year after our break up and a few months after I decided to stop talking with her because I thought it would make me get over her. She says she's over me but it took her several months and she hasn't had another boyfriend since, but my friends make fun of me because I can't get over her.
Don't let your friends make fun of you for having emotions. They won't be laughing when the exact same thing happens to them. Love can be a very powerful and raw emotion and because this was your first love the time to heal may take a little longer. It's normal with most people.
It will come, whether in the form of waiting or another woman. Just take your time and if your friends can't respect that, then tell them to shove it. It isn't any of their business anyways. But, at the same time if you're talking a lot about the break up it could be annoying them. If that's the case, lay off talking about it, because not only will it alleviate the teasing it might actually make you feel better. If you focus too much on it, it is constantly on your mind and that isn't healthy. Go hang out with your buddies, shoot the shit and have fun. Try your hardest not to bring it up.
If you haven't been talking about it and your friends are being dicks, just ignore them. Like I said time will heal and if they aren't being friendly about it maybe consider hanging around someone who can help. Are there any of your friends that don't tease you about it? If there are, stick with them. They will make this time easier for you.
Your friends makes fun of you? They aren't friends. They're the ones you shouldn't talk to ever again.
