Is it normal that i can't get over a guy i've never even dated?

He's basically obsessed with one of my friends and he knows I know that. And he knows I like him but acts as if he doesn't (because he just wants to be friends).

His best friend knows I like him and always makes me feel bad about it by always telling me how much he likes my friend.

It's been 3 years and I still like him, even though I don't want to.

Pretend you don't like him anymore.

It's human nature to want what you can't have so you're too available to him.

    4 questions:
Are you sure that he knows that you know he likes your friend? How do you know?

Are you sure that his best friend knows? How do you know?

he (let's call him "jack") called me her name by accident once. i thought it was random (because they weren't really friends at all and didnt even talk) so i called "jack" out on it... then he and his best friend came up to me the next day... his best friend was like, "oh, i heard what happened yesterday. sorry, 'jack' is just really obsessed with her and is all he ever thinks about. isn't that true, bro?" and then he was like "yeah, sometimes i think about her too much." and then i got mad and stopped talking to "jack" for a few days. he apologized and kept calling me and following me around until i forgave him. this was all like mid- freshman year of high school.

fast forward to senior year now and i still "jack" and "jack"'s best friend (now my friend ever since we started having a bunch of classes together) constantly teases me about liking "jack" whenever he gets the chance (which he basically has been doing ever since he came up to me that one day freshman year). i respond to his teasings by laughing and saying, "more like 'jack' and [insert name of my friend 'jack' likes]."

"jack" and i talk during the class we have together so i have to face him every day, even though i really don't want to. we joke around and stuff and he shows a friendly interest to hang out (e.g. we should go to ____ sometime) but i always say no cause i don't want to hang out with him cause i know i want it to be more and hanging out with him will only make me want what i can't have more.

i know he likes my friend because he basically stalks her. he "likes" every single one of her fb statuses (even though she's the type of person to update it multiple times a day), has his best friend constantly pry her for answers to questions about herself, sometimes asks me really personal questions about her (which i refuse to answer), calls her whenever she and her boyfriend break up (my friend and her bf have been on again off again since beginning of freshman year), and texts her stupid shit he thinks is flirty but is just dumb and weird. and then she shows me/tells me all this stuff and we laugh about it together because she has no interest in him whatsoever.

anyway, this is fucking ridiculous because even though we're ADULTS who will be going away to college next year, i feel like everyone in this situation is acting really fucking immature, and it's quite honestly just pissing me off because i want it all to end. it's been too long.
