Is it normal that i can't entirely control what i eat?

I've never been the skinniest girl, but I'm now on the brink of being overweight and I'm questioning my health. Ive always been a big eater, but recently I've not been able to control what I eat - I've eaten about 2L of icecream in the past week. Is this normal, and what can I do to stop it?????? Please help. Thanks.

Sometimes committing to a food journal can be really helpful (try a really simple notebook-type app on your phone). Then simply write down what you eat and how hungry you were (1-5). Start there without trying to make any big changes first. By writing things down, you will probably naturally start to come to terms with what you eat/ how much/ why/ when/ etc. Good luck!:)

You're the one in control of your eating! Maybe you need to learn to recognize hunger and distinguish it from appetite caused by boredom, frustration, etc.
Next time you feel that way, try doing something else to change your mood. You could listen to a favourite song, call a friend or write something instead.
