Is it normal that i can't drink water thats a day old?

Sometimes I get thirsty before bed, so I will bring a water bottle up to my room and only drink like half of it. I'll wake up the next morning and still have the water, but I can't drink it. I refuse to drink water that has been sitting out all night. It grosses me out.

Wow! I thought I was the only one... I also do this exact same thing. I just can't drink water that's been left out, it just grosses me out too.

I agree. Its open exposed water that's been sitting out all night for dust to fall in. Not to mention bacteria from your mouth marinating in it all night long. Same with bottled water. I won't drink it next day either. You can't avoid backwash!

You realize the water you get from bottles and sinks are pretty much as old as the earth?

It's not healthy to drink "tons of water". If you drink too much water you can die of overhydration. Srsly.

The bacteria from your mouth will fester in the water. So yeah, it's a good thing you don't drink it. However it's a bad thing you're wasting plastic. Pour yourself a half glass next time. (But it's healthy to drink tons of water so either do that or drink the whole bottle.)

I am the same, but it's because I am not a fan of room temperature water.

  • Well, make sure you check the expired date on your water bottles! You don't want to get sick.
