Is it normal that i can't dance?

I suck at dancing. My friends have even told me that I look like a mom or that I dance like a 3-year old. When I go to parties, and especially after a few drinks, I try to blow it off and dance anyway. When people are drinking and the place is crowded and dark nobody's going to notice how bad I am at dancing right? And if I'm drunk I'll get on elevated surfaces and dance.
But is it normal to go out on the dance floor and pretend that I'm an awesome dancer to spite myself? I also can't dance in front of my friends who admitted to me that I'm horrible at it. I'm too nervous that they're judging me and can't loosen up around them.

Get Into the groove and move to the rhythm. If you get made fun of, blame it on the alcohol.

Ya know, I was an average bowler. I usually bowled a 225 game. I just had this hop and a skip and used my other hand to lean on my leg when it came time to throw the ball. Well.....I got picked on by my fellow league players. Needless to say, I got worse because they made fun of me. I got way to self conscious and didn't bowl anymore.

Don't let this happen to you. Pick your head up and give it all you got.

My feet won't do what my brain tells them to do. I've taken lessons, tried everything.

Normal! Some of us suck in math, some at sports, others at dancing... For some people it just comes out naturally, but even if that's not your case, dont worry. Just like said, have a couple of drinks and just relax, feel the beat... Also, WATCH people that dance well, how they move, to find inspiration.

If you think about not being able to dance, dancing gets difficult. Instead, have a drink or two and go to the dance floor yourself, before your friends try to get you to dance. Just act relaxed, enjoy the music, forget about what you look like and just feel the beat. You will dance more naturally then because there is no pressure. It was your decision to dance. Then your friends will eventually join in and you can all dance in a relaxed way together. A few drinks may really help but don't over do it. They are probably self-concious too but you must act that you are not, and withought the need to 'show off' any particular dance moves.

All normal people can dance. If you can't dance, that means you aren't normal.
