Is it normal that i can't be affectionate?

I don't know why but I can't seem to get close to people. I can't stand hugging someone or even simply waving at them. I feel very uncomfortable doing so. Even when I actually want to I can't. It just seems odd. Espeacially when I'm with my boyfriend. At times I just want to hug and kiss him but I can't bring myself to do it or even be that close to him. Due this he sometimes gets the notion that I don't like him but I really do. I can see how he would think this though...

Sounds like a slight comfort/confidence issue

Yours just not comfortable with it, that's normal, but try to relax around your boyfriend.

I feel the exact same way minus the boyfriend part b/c i don't have one but normal things like hugs just don't feel natural to me. I almost never initiate affection...

Maybe because you're not used to showing affection?

You might be OCD. This is very common in OCD people. Also this is seen in some Autistic poeple.

Are you uncomfortable with expressing affection, or do the physical acts themselves make you uncomfortable? Sometimes sensory issues make it really hard for people to hug and kiss.

Either way, I think you should consider talking to a therapist about this.
