Is it normal that i can suddenly get any music i want for free?

OK, I am currently in a state of both enormous excitement and yet some sort of slight guilt too.

I just downloaded a screen/sound capture device for free on the Internet called Windows HyperCam. It can record sound off the computer.

And there's music on YouTube. Lots of it. Which can be recorded.

And now I'm just thinking of all the possibilities, I can record any music I like off YouTube, anything at all, I can have it for free, without paying for it! I just feel so excited but also kind of bad about myself though...

Is this normal... I didn't want to turn to illegal downloading, it's kind of sad to do it, but now I can, it's going to be great and I can't help myself!

The funniest part about this is... how is this program even legal? It's free, not a trial version which means I can have it forever, and yet it can save you so much money. I'm so confused, but soooo thrilled...

    If you really like a certain artist, you should give him support. I download music for free, but if I really like it, I will eventually buy the album.

    Downloading is good for the music industry. Why? Because it hurts the major record labels whose only purpose is to put out generic garbage that has maximum mass-appeal.

    It's good for the lesser known acts, because word of mouth gets their careers going. They hardly make any money off of album sales, anyway.

    All the money I used to spend on cds now goes to seeing live shows and buying t-shirts and other merch.

    ...and btw, you are a total noob. Torrents. Rapidshare. Mediafire. Any of this ringing a bell?

    I think everyone has done it at least once I use to and never saw anything wrong with it I was like fuck them they make millions of dollars a year on one song but then I came across my now favorite band My Morning Jacket and after downloading a couple songs illegally I felt really guilty I mean they're songs literally changed my out look on life and I told myself that I can't do this anymore its not right these guys do a lot for charity they are not greedy super commercialized and they are genuinely nice guys and extremely talented I've never downloaded another song illegally from My Morning Jacket or any other artist and I have a clear conscience

    This is a thing that everybody does, and there's no need to feel guilty because everybody does it. I do it, and I've got multiple rock songs off YouTube, plus video game tracks, podcasts, etc, all for free. Do it, why waste your money, get them for free.

    This is why you need a macintosh. You don't need to download any software in order to capture a video off of youtube.

      Haha I think it's a metaphor, he means people have been doing it since man evolved the ability to stand on two legs so that his urine launches when he pees.

    just remember, when you do this, it's not the gaga's and the foo fighters who will be greatly impacted. it's the administrative assistants who work under the big record label bosses, and the janitors who clean up after them, they're the ones who will loose money because of your actions.
