Is it normal that i can see a flash when im startled.

If im just going to sleep or closing my eyes relaxing and something startles me, like a loud sound or unexpected touch, I see a bright flash while my eyes are closed. Its kind of like that flash you see when being punched in the head. Is this normal?

    I'll let you know what it is. Apparently, according to a doctor who was lecturing us, when people are really, really tired your senses almost get confused a muddled up. So hence instead of "hearing" a loud bang you "see" it instead :-)

    Have you talked to anyone about maybe having PTSD? Just a thought because you seem to have a low startle threshold.
