Is it normal that i can never seem to motivate myself to lose weight

Well im 5"5, 176lbs and 18 years old. I really want to lose about 30lbs by the end of this year. Problem is ill start with a diet and stick with it one day and then ill just stop. I dont know if im just lazy or what but i cant seem to just take that first step. I always have an excuse like ill start tommorrow or i already screwed my diet up so i might as well stop. Someone please help me. Does anyone have any ideas that i can try? Im really desperate

Instead of diets, please try to just eat healthier and do some form of excersise a few days a week, one step at a time. Remember our real beauty is on the inside

i used meal replacment shakes and loads of exercise and lost a load of weight. two meals replaced with a shake ate a sensible meal for 1 and plenty of fruit to curb any hunger i lost 30 kgs so far (56 lbs) and have a day off the diet once a week so you have something to look forward to as long as calories burned are greater than calories eaten you will lose the weight. starving yourseif is not productive it slows metabilism and the hunger leads to the cravings for bad shit, eat often 5-6 times a day just eat the right stuff and exersise

Instead of just "dieting" I would suggest that you make a major change to your lifestyle. Namely, go vegan. You'll have a few cravings, but for the most part, it's not that hard, and the pounds come off steadily!

Start small. When you realize you have broke your diet rules, make note, and stop what you are doing. It is important to have goals, but be realistic. Don't punish yourself for giving into a craving, acknowledge it- then counteract it.

Work on creating healthy patterns. If you feel too tired when you wake up to exercise, at least stretch and do some deep breathing.

What are you doing right now? checking the computer? Stand up reach to the sky and inhale, bend over and touch your toes while exhaling. Go for that walk now. The computer will still be there when you get back. Oh- is it 3am? do 100 crunches, do it now.

Thats horrible! haha. DON'T stop eating. I gained alot of weight a while back ago. I got on Prozac for my anxiety and I'm not sure if it gives you energy but I was always moving, always cleaning, always doing something. And I wouldn't eat until dinner time at which I would only eat half the meat served, and less than a cup of each vegie. No carbs.

My mom lost 10lbs by just taking a multi-vitamin called Double X. You can find it at Amway.com. It's kind of expensive though. :/

Some people photocopy a picture of themselves that they hate and put it on the fridge and cupboard doors as a reminder about why they are dieting.

Remember, inaction is always easier than action.

    Solution: Stop eating. Completely.
